2007 Architecture/ Industrial Design Aptitube test
Well, yesterday went to the 2007 Architecture/ Industrial Design Aptitube test at NUS. Went out of my house late, and got to photocopy my result slips, therefore got to take a cab down to NUS. Quite unlucky yesterday, my house there the photocopy shops closed down or not open yet. So got no choice got to go down to Toa Pahoy. For what I know there are two shops which i could photocopy, but 1st shop -> machine spoiled, 2nd shop -> not open yet. So started to panic. So I asked a shop people where could I photocopy. To my surprise, there is another shop which was opened. So i get my results photocopy and took a cab down. Lucky, it only took 15 mins down from Toa Pahoy down to NUS. As it was the 1st time I went to NUS so i was unfamilise with the place just has a map with me. Plus, the taxis driver also forgot how to get to the place that I want to go. I asked the taxis driver to let me down and i walked there by myself. but he was kind enough and said ' it ok, NUS is so big, i drive you there. We can ask people along the way.' And he jus charge me $11 instead of $13. Although it was only $2 less... and I wasn't late. The test venue is at SDE 3 Level 3. Five of my seriors were also there to take the test. The test consisted of 3 questions: 1) Do a mass model with the cardboards provide to abstract a model to represent both lightness and heaviness. 2) The photography of a teapot designed by Anna and Mies van der Rohe 'Farnsworth House'. Write down the five keywords of the quality. 3) Using the abstract model, design a object/ furniture or a structure for a seating for one or more people. Sudden realise: what we learnt in school is some how useful. Ok, I should get my work started. Waiting for 12pm to know if I am shortlist for the interview a not. Update again. You are The DevilMateriality. Material Force. Material temptation; sometimes obsession The Devil is often a great card for business success; hard work and ambition. Perhaps the most misunderstood of all the major arcana, the Devil is not really "Satan" at all, but Pan the half-goat nature god and/or Dionysius. These are gods of pleasure and abandon, of wild behavior and unbridled desires. This is a card about ambitions; it is also synonymous with temptation and addiction. On the flip side, however, the card can be a warning to someone who is too restrained, someone who never allows themselves to get passionate or messy or wild - or ambitious. This, too, is a form of enslavement. As a person, the Devil can stand for a man of money or erotic power, aggressive, controlling, or just persuasive. This is not to say a bad man, but certainly a powerful man who is hard to resist. The important thing is to remember that any chain is freely worn. In most cases, you are enslaved only because you allow it. What Tarot Card are You? Tuesday, April 24, 2007, 12:01:00 AM
another movie treat
After lunch, I went out to meet [people]. We thought of watch ‘200 Pound Beauty’ at 3.10pm at the Cathay. [people] was late cos he ate late lunch so I went to buy tickets 1st. but I din have much money with me. I went to draw money but the atm machine was faulty, it stopped the transition halfway. So I called [people] and told him. He said anyway he also will reach around 3pm and cant make it for the 3.10pm show. If he reaches before that, it will be also very rushing so might as well wait for him to reach and walk over to ceinleisure for the next session at 5.30pm. So I walked over to Dhoby Ghaut control station and waited for him. Nowadays the weather is so humid and warm. I could feel my feet in my shoes are burning while waiting for the red man to turn green. We bought the 5.30pm tickets and went up to level 6 and sat at the sofa area to wait for the time to pass. The cinema was quite packed. Read from the internet, the rating and the reviews of the movie are good. Hope it is worth the money to watch the movie. Plot Synopsis : Han-Na is a very big girl with a warm heart. She is also gifted with an unbelievable voice from God. Han-Na has always wanted to be a pop-singer, but due to her appearance, could only work as a faceless singer. She provides the vocals for a popular singer named Ami, a beautiful young lady that can’t carry a note to save her life. One year later, after Han-Na’s extreme makeover (major plastic surgery), Han-Na takes on a new identity and becomes Jenny. Jenny has a near perfect body and face. Nobody recognizes her, even her best friend. Meanwhile, the producer Sang-Jung is searching for a replacement singer for Ami, but can’t find anyone close to the talents of Han-na. Han-na as Jenny, now comes back into the picture and auditions for the job. Sang-Jung is immediately floored by her. She has the absolute beauty and that stunning voice. Soon afterwards, her dream that Sung-June will fall in love with her, is about to come true. Unfortunately, Ami is now jealous of her and feels threatened by her sudden success. She researches into Jenny’s background and comes up with the truth about her true identity. Will this ruin Jenny’s career? Even though "200 Pounds Beauty" seems an old-fashioned movie, but I think the movie has a good story, it is mainly focused on Han-Na's love for Sang-Jung, adding some comic components into the right places at the right time. This film is a melodrama rather than a comedy, succeeding in bringing about natural and non-excessive laughs. Overall, the movie is entertaining in many respects. And the most attention I have fallen on is song sang by Han-NA is 'Maria', and also the soundtrack has plenty of other great songs and popular artists which are also very nice. I think you will like this show too...Goooo watch it... nice... ; ) Friday, April 20, 2007, 10:19:00 PM
do you need to read again?
Read out loud the text inside the triangle below More than likely you said " A Bird In The Bush" and ... if this is what you said, then you failed to see that the word "THE" repeated twice. NEXT In black you can read the word "GOOD", in white the word "EVIL" (inside each black letter is the white letter)what do you see? Now what so you see? You may not see it at first, but the white space read the word "optical", the blue landscape read the word " illusion". LOOK again ! Can see why this painting is called an optical illusion. What do you see here? LAST ONE You probably read the word "ME" in brown, but.. when you look through ME you will see "YOU" Monday, April 16, 2007, 9:21:00 PM
Living to breathe. But it's not life I'm living, It's life living me. Standing Alone Over promised dreams persuing my hopes earning my wings. Falling forever, to escape the routine. Wanting to change; sick of everything I've seen. Expectations inside me, begging for escape. living life for others avoiding mistake. Standing Alone Over promised dreams persuing my hopes earning my wings. A Never Changing Me; its the way its expected. Working for others; not allowed to be rejected Breathing to Live, inside something hollow. Not afraid to quit, to tired to fall, though. But I'm done now. I'll be Standing Alone Over broken dreams. I'm shedding my hopes- shedding my wings. Wednesday, April 11, 2007, 10:50:00 PM
